Our History:  Lansing Animal Hospital was founded in 1957 by Dr. Douglas Darlington to provide comprehensive medical, surgical and preventative care to the pets of our community.  Today Lansing Animal Hospital continues that tradition, and our hospital includes a full diagnostics laboratory, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, and a complete pharmacy. Communities Served: We care for pets from all over the area including: Lansing, Munster, Glenwood, Thornton, Hammond, South Holland, Calumet City, Highland, Chicago, Lynwood, Dyer, Chicago Heights, Schererville, and many other South Suburban and Northwest Indiana Communities.

Meet Lansing's Veterinarians!

Dr. Raymond Reeves
Dr. Reeves graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois in 1965.  Dr. Reeves enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but he is especially interested in surgery cases.   When he is not at work, Dr. Reeves can be found spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his wife of nearly 50 years.  He enjoys gardening, woodworking, and jogging through the forest preserves around Lansing.  Before practicing at Lansing, Dr. Reeves was a veterinarian in the US Army.  He has raised rabbits and attended rabbit shows for years and enjoys spending time with his Boston Terrier, Wendy.

Dr. Larry Booher
Dr. Booher graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1972. In addition to broad experience in general practice, he particularly enjoys internal medicine.  Dr. Booher enjoys gardening, and outdoor activities all kinds, including: bicycling, bird watching, cross country skiing and relaxing on the beach.  He loves spending time with his family and grandson.  He is an active hiker and can be seen being walked by his four year old Boxer, Sophia. 

Dr. Sarah Child (formerly Jerick)
Dr. Child received her degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 and joined Lansing Animal Hospital in 2007.  Dr. Child has both general and emergency medicine experience, and enjoys promoting lifelong wellness in her patients.  When she is not at work, Dr. Child enjoys spending time with husband, hiking and walking outdoors, reading, and is currently learning to play the guitar.  Dr. Child also enjoys spending time with her two mixed breed dogs, Baily and Howard.

Dr. Michele Medhurst
Dr. Medhurst received her degree from College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois in 1985 and has worked at Lansing Animal Hospital on a part time basis since 2001.  Dr. Medhurst is experienced at all aspects of general and internal medicine, and she also enjoys working with local shelters to provide care for abandoned animals.  In her free time, Dr. Medhurst enjoys spending time with her family, playing soccer, gardening, home repair and reading.  Dr. Medhurst also enjoys the company of her three cats and two fish.
